Professor Stokes' talk will center around exegesis of the Old Testament. He has been a member of the Providence College faculty since 1998. He was received into the Catholic Church in June of 1999. Prior to this he served as rector of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church from 1990 to 1999. Professor Stokes received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, his masters degree from Keble College, Oxford University, and his bachelors degree from the University of the South (Sewanee). His interests include Karl Barth, Von Balthasar, Newman and issues on interpretation. Professor Stokes is married with four children.
